Joshua Trees grow wild in the Pahrump Valley. They are a very common site in Nevada and grow rather tall in higher elevations. This image was taken off Highay 160 just as you enter the Pahrump Valley from Las Vegas. These are very unique trees and some are very old because they can survive on very little water. Most of the locals just drive by them and think nothing of it because they see them all the time. But for me they are natures work of art just like clouds but they do not move very fast. This was a very hot day and sunset and very colorful because there were strong winds earlier. There are many variables that can make scenic sunset or colorful and the refraction of all the particals in the sky is no exception.
